Useful Links and Info

One of the reasons we decided to set up NGAM was the absence of a single place to find information regarding the Aerospace Medicine field in the UK and worldwide. This part of our site aims to correlate useful links & Twitter profiles and to list important events in our field.

We try to keep this site as up to date as possible but please follow us on Twitter for the latest updates.

UK AEROSPACE MEDICINE EVENTS

Whilst interesting lectures, symposia and events occur intermittently (follow our Twitter feed to keep up to date), there are a few key events that happen more frequently:

AsMA ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC MEETING

This conference runs annually in May (most years). It is generally based in the US but is the largest international gathering of the aerospace medicine field. Abstract submissions are normally around October time.

RAES Aerospace Medicine Group Annual Symposium

Hosted by the Aerospace Medicine Group of the Royal Aeronautical Society in December, this is the key UK Aerospace Medicine conference. The topic shifts between a clinical and a physiological focus every other year.

THE STEWART MEMORIAL LECTURE

Named after AVM Bill Stewart (an absolute hero), this is a free lecture in the evening following the RAeS Aerospace Medicine Symposium. It is delivered by a expert in the field and covers a wide range of topics from history to commercial space flight.

It’s worth keeping an eye on the RAeS events calendar as they often host lectures and talks around the country (some of which are free) about all aspects of the aerospace industry. These are often really good to help broaden your understanding and gain useful context.
